Oyster Dredging Match starts at 1100h to 1300h for heritage working vessels that were originally built for the fishing industry in the Blackwater and Colne.

Again this September we have the annual The Mersea Dredging Match celebrating start of the native oyster season and for once yearly oyster fishing under sail competition.

This year we have the Maria CK21 as the Forman's Smack with Colchester City Mayor and West Mersea Mayor attending and a guest judge.
